A year or so ago we were doing the photography for a big PR campaign and we got to know the head of PR very well. When her daughters 14th birthday came along she was looking for something a little different to entertain the girls. We showed up at the party with all of our gear and a photo printer to find the partygoers dressed for the shoot in a Summer festival style. We taught the girls to pose – just like we do with our brides and they all had a go at trying to look “sassy”. Apparently, that’s the look to go for if you are sharing on Instagram. We lit the shoot in a fashion photography style and the girls were bowled over with the style of the pics. After the shoot, it was back to the house for party tea and a chance to review the images. The girls chose their favourites and we printed and mounted them to take home.
We had a blast working with the girls and it became very evident that their confidence really grew as a result of seeing how awesome they could look on camera. Having started the shoot quite shy they ended brim full of ideas for other shots they would love to get. We got a call last month from a mum of one of the girls who was at the other party asking to book us for her daughter’s party. Naturally, we jumped at the chance and once again the girls were delighted with the result.

We are now offering Portrait Parties at your own venue or at our studios in Washington. We have plenty of space in the studio to put out a party tea and lots of tables and chairs for chilling out after the shoot.
