It’s 2017 and halfway through a wedding – while the couple enjoy their food – we’re having a bite to eat ourselves and chatting about how much we enjoy working together.

Having both had our own successful solo photography businesses for several years we realised that it’s much more enjoyable working with a mate. In fact, we came to the conclusion that we enjoyed working together so much, and had been to so many weddings together, we decided it may be time to finally “tie the knot” ourselves and launch a new business. We’re very different in many ways – Steve is a dog person (he has two) and I have a cat. He loves his meat and I’m a veggie. He’s a beer man and I prefer coffee. But one thing we very much agree on is our passion for taking great pictures and being people-people we’ve realised we absolutely love shooting weddings.

We scoured the local area for the perfect venue for our new studio and, being Washington lads, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to rent the old church building in Columbia.

Why Mission Studios?

Our building in Columbia is full of character and it has a very interesting history. Previously it was called St Cuthbert’s Mission and it still has a tower where the bell used to be. We’ve actually included it in our logo. We liked the idea of “Mission” for another reason too as we always make it our mission to give our clients the best possible customer experience. Whether we’re shooting your wedding, taking awesome portraits, capturing your event or promoting your business. We like to think of ourselves as Washington’s friendly local photography studio.

What we do

We’re so excited to have our own studio because we love taking pictures. When we opened our doors in 2017 our mission is to provide creative, high-quality images of people, products and pets. We work closely with clients to make sure that we deliver exactly what they ask for and spend time getting to know them so we can understand them and capture their unique personalities.

We see ourselves as true digital artists and as such we can help you realise your creative vision.

We make such beautiful images we’re often asked if we deliver training. Since we both previously worked as photography trainers we are delighted to work with beginners and aspiring professionals to help them to develop their knowledge.
